Privacy Policy
Effective November 2, 2026. Applies to the A&P Test Ready website (aptestready.com) and the Android and iOS apps.
Summary
There are no accounts and no ads. The website and apps do not currently use analytics or third-party trackers. Study progress stays on your device. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy (website) or by Apple and Google (apps). If you use a license key from a website purchase, that key is checked with Lemon Squeezy and with our server, as described below.
Data that stays on your device
Study progress (answers, flashcard schedule, mock scores, daily-quiz streak), settings and unlocked content are stored only in your browser or on your device, and we never receive them. Your license key is also saved on your device so you stay unlocked; it is sent off the device only for the license checks described below. Clearing site data, or deleting the app or its data, removes everything stored on the device.
Website
Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy policy. The site pages include a slot for Cloudflare Web Analytics, but it is switched off and loads nothing. If we turn it on, we will update this page first. Cloudflare also shows us aggregate traffic statistics (for example request counts and countries); we do not use them to identify visitors.
Purchases. Website checkout is run by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, which collects your email and payment details and sends you your license key. We receive the order details Lemon Squeezy shares with sellers (such as your name, email address and what you bought) and use them only to provide the product and support. Lemon Squeezy processes your data under its privacy policy.
License activation. When you enter your key, your browser sends it to Lemon Squeezy to activate this device. The activation includes a device label made of "web", a device type taken from your browser's user agent (iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows or Linux) and a timestamp, for example "web-iPhone-1730000000000". The site re-checks the key with Lemon Squeezy (key and activation ID) when you return while online, and releases the activation if you remove the key. Removing the key (while online) also sends the key and the random device ID to our server to remove that device from the study-guide download record, freeing its guide device slot. Lemon Squeezy stores the activation with your purchase record, so it is linked to that purchase (and the email used to buy), counts devices (up to 3) and is visible to us in our seller dashboard.
Unlocking content. To load paid questions and diagrams, your browser sends your license key and activation ID to our server (Cloudflare Pages Functions), which checks them with Lemon Squeezy and returns the content. We do not store the key.
Study-guide downloads. To download a guide, your browser sends your license key, activation ID and a random device ID (created and saved in your browser) to our server. The server checks the key with Lemon Squeezy and then keeps a record containing a shortened one-way hash of the key, a download count and the device IDs used, to enforce the limits of 5 downloads and 3 devices per key. Each request for a download link counts toward the 5-download limit, even if the download doesn't finish; asking again for the same guide and format on the same device within 24 hours gives a new link without counting, up to 3 times. After that, further requests for that guide on that device are refused until the 24 hours have passed (nothing is counted); a request counts only when it is the first for that guide, format and device in 24 hours. The app shows how many downloads are left. A link expires after 10 minutes and can deliver at most about 3 full copies of the file. The server keeps the download count and, for each link, a random link ID, the key hash, the expiry time, how many times it was opened and how much was downloaded, plus the time of the last counted link and the number of free re-issues for each guide, format and device; these records are kept for as long as the guides are offered, except expired link records, which are deleted. When you remove the key on the website (while online), that device ID is marked as released in a second record (device IDs and release times), freeing its slot; the download count is not changed. Each key can release at most 2 devices per day and use at most 6 devices over its lifetime. These records have no set expiry: they are kept for as long as the guides are offered. The key itself is not stored. Our server's request logs may also include the key hash and device ID; Cloudflare keeps these logs only briefly. To have your download record deleted, email us.
Android and iOS apps
The apps have no accounts, ads, analytics, crash reporting or third-party trackers.
Daily reminder. If you turn on the optional daily reminder, it is scheduled as a local notification on your device. No push service or server is involved, and you can turn it off at any time.
In-app purchases. Purchases in the apps are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own privacy policies. The app only receives the store's confirmation of which products you own. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details.
License keys for website purchases. If you bought on aptestready.com and enter your license key in the app, the app activates it with Lemon Squeezy. It sends the key and a device label made of "app", your platform (Android or iOS) and a timestamp, for example "app-ios-1730000000000". Lemon Squeezy returns an activation ID. After that, the app re-checks the key with Lemon Squeezy (key and activation ID) at most once a day when it starts or resumes while online. If you remove the key, the app sends the key and activation ID to Lemon Squeezy to release that device slot. If the release can't complete (for example while offline), the app keeps the key and activation ID only on this device and retries when it next starts or resumes online. It deletes them as soon as the release succeeds, or after 20 attempts or 30 days, whichever comes first. The app does not contact our server. The activation is stored by Lemon Squeezy with the buyer's purchase record, so it is linked to that purchase (and the email used to buy) and visible to us in our seller dashboard. It is used only to confirm the purchase and count devices (up to 3). Lemon Squeezy processes this under its privacy policy. Apart from activation, the daily re-check and this release when a key is removed, the app sends nothing else.
Children
A&P Test Ready is a study aid for adult aviation-maintenance students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
